Poly-Flow Engineering, LLC Acquires
Entegris parts clean line
Contact:
Dan
Huard, Director Sales and Marketing,
Poly-Flow Engineering, LLC.
Poly-Flow Engineering, LLC, a subsidiary
of Ktech Corporation located in the Sandia
Science and Technology Park in
Albuquerque, New Mexico, is pleased to
announce the acquisition of the Peripheral
Cleaning Equipment product line of
Entegris, Inc.
“Poly-Flow Engineering, LLC has been a
leader in the semiconductor industry for
more than 34 years providing cutting edge
high-tech cleaning equipment and chemical
delivery systems,” says Curt Mitchke,
Poly-Flow’s General Manager. “Now we are
moving forward aggressively to gain even
more market share.”
For the past several years the world’s
most advanced semiconductor device
(microchip) manufacturing companies have
been converting over their fabrication
facilities to the larger 300 mm silicon
wafers for higher volumes with much lower
costs. These 300 mm wafers are transported
from process to process in small ultra
clean mini environments called FOUPS
(Front Opening Unified Pods), and from
site to site in vehicles called FOSBS
(Front Opening Shipping Boxes). FOUPs and
FOSBs protect millions of dollars of
product as they pass from one
manufacturing step to another, and they
must be cleaned down to sub-micron levels
so that they do not themselves become a
source of contamination.
Poly-Flow Engineering, LLC and Entegris,
Inc., a Delaware Corporation and industry
leader for the manufacturing of FOUPS and
FOSBS, concluded an agreement on 4/8/08
for Poly-Flow Engineering, LLC to acquire
the assets and certain liabilities related
to Entegris’ line of peripheral cleaning
equipment. Entegris will continue to
provide its global customers with cleaning
services for FOUPs and FOSBs and other
critical material handling products.
Called the “perfect match” by Mr. Mitchke,
this acquisition will bring FOUP and FOSB
cleaning experience, a large customer base
and outstanding engineering resources to
Poly-Flow, who already provides high-tech
cleaning equipment for the FOUP and FOSB
purification process. The combination of
Poly-Flow’s customer base, technology and
product lines coupled with Entegris’
Peripheral Cleaning Equipment customer
base, technology and products will rocket
Poly-Flow into a very competitive position
world wide.
As part of the acquisition, Poly-Flow
Engineering will be establishing an
engineering office in San Jose, CA that
will house the engineers joining
Poly-Flow. All other operations related to
the acquisition will be handled out of the
Poly-Flow headquarters in Albuquerque, NM.
In addition, Poly-Flow is mid way through
the development of the world’s only fully
automated and factory integrated FOUP and
FOSB cleaning system. The MS-277-II
MultiSpec system will be one of the first
ever to feature full automation and
factory integration. “We are expecting to
have demo unit available for our customers
in July of this year,” says Mitchke. “Now
with the Entegris line we can offer our
customers 6 different models to choose
from when it comes to cleaning these
critical components.”

Business Projections
In recent weeks Poly-Flow Engineering,
LLC has experienced an increase in
capital equipment orders, and the
projections for 2006 look very good.
New products and product improvements
which were developed in 2005 are now
ready for delivery to our customers,

Press Release July 7, 2005
FOR
IMMEDIATE RELEASE |
Poly-Flow announces new
state-of-the-art automated
FOUP & FOSB Purifying System
Contact:
Dan Huard, Director Sales and
Marketing, Poly-Flow Engineering, LLC.
FOUPs (Front
Opening Unified Pods) are used in the
most advanced semiconductor FABs
around the world. These FOUPS are the
vehicles that transport the 300 mm
wafers from process station to process
station in the very complex
manufacturing cycle needed to produce
advanced devices like microprocessors
and memory chips. During the
manufacturing cycle, the 300 mm wafers
must be transported in an ultra pure
environment tested/measured down to
sub-micron levels. After a production
cycle, these FOUPs must be cleaned and
dried automatically with ultra pure
wet/dry process technology. The FOSB
(Front Opening Shipping Box), is
utilized for transporting wafers
around the world (for back end
processing of the devices) and must
also be cleaned after a shipping
cycle.
Handling of these wafer vehicles can
be a serious ergonomics issue for our
customers. We have developed a fully
automated system that can be
integrated into our customers’ process
stream without human intervention.
Utilizing very advanced robot and
software technology, we will be
providing our customers with a “turn
key” fully automated/factory
integrated system.
“We have our competition on the run
as we are offering almost twice the
standard throughput, cleaner
technology, better reliability and a
lower cost of ownership; all for a
very competitive price, says Dan
Huard, Poly-Flow’s Director of Sales
and Marketing. The MS-277 will be a
key product for Poly-Flow in 2006 and
beyond.
The Poly-Flow sales team is currently
in technical and commercial
negotiations with several large device
manufacturers for this exciting new
system. Some of these customers will
be visiting Poly-Flow in the coming
weeks for a full demonstration and
specification reviews.
